At BasedApp, we take fraud seriously and employ robust fraud-detection systems to proactively protect our customers. If you notice a fraudulent transaction:

  1. Immediately lock or freeze your card through the BasedApp app to prevent further unauthorized use.

  2. Contact our support team promptly to report the fraudulent activity. We'll assist you with initiating a dispute or chargeback process according to Visa’s regulations.

Please note that, as a card issuer, BasedApp facilitates dispute processes in line with industry standards and payment network rules, but we do not directly cover financial losses arising from fraudulent transactions. While we strive to support and guide you throughout the dispute process, the final resolution follows the applicable dispute rules set by Visa.

Based on our experience, most disputes can be successfully contested. Disputes may not be successful in certain situations, including:

  • Failure to promptly report the unauthorized transaction.

  • Transactions authorized by you, even if unsatisfactory or involving disputes with merchants about product quality or delivery.

  • Insufficient documentation or evidence provided during the dispute process.

Fraudulent claims or disputes found to be unauthorized or unjustified could incur fees or penalties as defined by Visa’s policies.

Lost or stolen card scenario:

If your card is lost or stolen and misused before you manage to lock it, please immediately report it to our support team. The quicker you report it, the better we can assist in limiting further unauthorized transactions. Visa's regulations and BasedApp's procedures will apply to determine your liability in these cases.
